The Rougarou started off its week with a win against the Acadiana Cane Cutters on Monday night at Pete Goldsby Field. After a rough start to the game, the Rougarou had a huge eighth inning scoring four runs and taking a 4-2 lead. Luke Baley was lights out for Rougarou in the ninth inning and got the win for the Rougarou 4-2.
After beating the Cane Cutters on Monday night, the Rougarou had a two-day break before playing the Victoria Generals on Thursday night at home. Despite an impressive performance by Drew Bianco including a home run, the Rougarou fell to the Generals 9-2 on Thirsty Thursday. In the second game of the home series against the Generals on Friday night, the Rougarou fought hard in a game that went into 12 innings, but ultimately lost 6-3.
The Rougarou hit the road to Lafayette to play the Acadiana Cane Cutters on Saturday night and got out to an early 3-0 lead in the third inning. The big story on Saturday night though was the first ever no-hitter in Rougarou history pitched by starter Zach Fordham and reliever Austin Haensel. Behind Fordham and Haensel’s stellar performances, the Rougarou beat the Cane Cutters 4-0 in the first game of its two game road series against the Cane Cutters.
