Baton Rouge, LA – April 29, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou announced on Monday the signing of two players from Trinidad State Junior College in Colorado. Outfielder Reid Baty will join left-handed pitcher Guillaume Beaudry on the inaugural Rougarou roster this summer.
“Baty and Beaudry are both big, strong athletes,” Rougarou Manager Thomas Simoneaux said. “These guys are skilled and very versatile within the roster. They will be great teammates.”
Reid Baty, a native of Laramie, WY, is a sophomore at Trinidad. Currently in 45 games for Trojans, Baty has hit 12 home runs while providing 42 RBIs and chipping in 5 stolen bases. The 6’4” outfielder has also pitched 11 innings for the Trojans while striking out 9 batters. Guillaume Beaudry comes from Cookshire, Quebec. The left-handed Canadian is wrapping up his sophomore season at Trinidad where he has a 2-1 record with 27 strikeouts in 24 innings. Beaudry has shown the ability to serve in multiple roles on the pitching staff which should serve well for the Rougarou.
