Rougarou Bolster Infield as Season Nears

Baton Rouge, LA - May 20, 2019 - A fifth infielder has been added to the Rougarou roster. Dronette, a freshman, will travel over from Wharton County Junior College in Texas to play in the inaugural season for the Rougarou.

The switch hitting Dronette played high school baseball in the nearby city of Lafayette at Teurlings Catholic. While there, Dronette helped lead the Rebels to three straight LHSAA state championships from 2016-2018. Dronette then agreed to play for Wharton Junior College this past season where he helped his team reach the NJCAA Region XIV tournament.

“Dronette is the perfect player for us,” says Director of Baseball Operations, Brian Nelson. "Athletic, fast, hard-working, and strong are all attributes that describe Kalun. We are excited about his potential.” The defense looks strong as the season begins in just over a week. The Rougarou can’t wait to take the field and show Baton Rouge some great baseball.

The greatest show in town is coming - for tickets and information on Baton Rouge’s very own Minor League Baseball Experience for the inaugural season, go to or call (255) 500-4FUN. Follow the Rougarou on social media: | Twitter: @brrougarou | Instagram: brrougarou.
