Baton Rouge Rougarou Come up Short of a Comeback in Close Game against Texarkana Twins

Baton Rouge, LA – May 30, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou lost in a shootout against the Texarkana Twins on Thursday night 9-8. This was the second game of their two game road series against the Twins. The high scoring game went back and forth every few innings.  

The Twins struck early scoring three runs in the first inning. The Rougarou struck back in the top of the second inning scoring one run on a Carson Clowers RBI scoring Trevor Rugg and cutting into the Twins lead making it 3-1. The Twins extended their lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the second inning.  

The Rougarou turned the tide in the top of the third inning scoring four runs and taking a 5-4 lead. The Twins tied the game up 5-5 in the bottom of the third. The scoring stopped until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Twins scored four runs and took a 9-5 lead, but the Rougarou struck back in the top of the sixth inning and scored one to cut the Twins lead to 9-6.  

The seventh inning was scoreless, but the Rougarou cut into the Twins lead in the top of the eighth inning on a double by Logan LeJeune scoring Brayden Morrow and Kyle Boudreaux making it 9-8 Twins. The Rougarou went scoreless in the top of the ninth inning and felt short. The final score was 9-8 Twins.  

The Rougarou will return to Baton Rouge to play their home opener against the Victoria Generals on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Friday night will be Fireworks Night at Pete Goldsby Field.
