Baton Rouge, LA – June 1, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou took on the Victoria Generals in the second game of their four game home series. The Rougarou had a tough game and lost 13-0 giving up 14 hits. Despite the tough loss at the hands of the Generals, the Rougarou celebrated Teachers Night at Pete Goldsby Field on Saturday night giving one free ticket to local teachers courtesy of ExxonMobil!
Reid Baty took the mound for the Rougarou on Saturday night and pitched 4 innings with 4 strikeouts. The Generals took an early lead scoring 4 runs in the third inning and leading 6-0 after 4 innings. Ashton Davis took over for Baty in the fifth inning and pitched one and two thirds innings.
Carson Clowers came in to pitch in the sixth inning and pitched three and one third innings. He had 2 strikeouts and only gave up 2 earned runs. Clowers also had 2 hits, contributing offensively and defensively. Lukas Polanco also had a base hit in the second inning. Kalun Dronette also got on base in the eighth inning.
The Rougarou had a rough day offensively after scoring over 20 runs in the last 2 games combined. They also had their struggles defensively giving up 13 runs, but look to improve these struggles in the next 2 games of their home series.
The Rougarou will play the Brazos Valley Bombers on Sunday night and again on Monday night at Pete Goldsby Field before traveling to Brazos Valley to take on the Bombers on their home turf. Sunday night at Pete Goldsby Field is Service Industry Night and STEM Night.
