Baton Rouge, LA – June 2, 2019 – In a nail biter against the Brazos Valley Bombers, the Baton Rouge Rougarou lost 8-7 in 10 innings on Service Industry and STEM night. On Service Industry and STEM Night, all workers in the service industry and those who work in science, technology, engineering, and math got one free ticket to the game.
Grant Upton took the mound for the Rougarou on Sunday night and pitched seven and one third innings with 5 strikeouts. Guillaume Beaudry came in to pitch in the 8th inning and pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings and only gave up 2 runs total.
The Rougarou went into the bottom of the 10th inning trailing 8-6 after the Bombers scored 2 runs in the top of the 10th inning. The Rougarou scored 1 run in the bottom of the 10th inning after Trevor Rugg hit a single and scored a few plays later to cut into the Bombers lead and make it 8-7. The Bombers stopped the late rally by the Rougarou and held on to their lead to defeat the Rougarou 8-7.
The Rougarou will play the Bombers again on Monday night at Pete Goldsby Field at 7:05 p.m. before traveling to Bryan, Texas to play the Bombers on their home turf. Monday night’s game against the Bombers is Monster Monday with unique food at Pete Goldsby Field.
