Rougarou Have First Field of Dreams Night Celebrating the Blue Jays Youth Team

Baton Rouge, LA – June 3, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou played in the last game of their 4 game home series at Pete Goldsby Field on Monday night against the Brazos Valley Bombers. Despite a tough 9-2 loss to the Bombers, the Rougarou had a successful Field of Dreams Night where they recognized the Blue Jays youth team and announced them before the National Anthem.  

Zach Fordham was the starting Pitcher for the Rougarou on Monday night against the Bombers. The Bombers got off to an early leading 1-0 after the 1st inning. The Rougarou loaded the bases in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but were not able to come away with any runs. The Rougarou scored 1 run in the bottom of the 3rd inning to make it a 2-1 game with the Bombers leading.  

Corbin Bozosi came in to pitch in the top of the 5th  inning. The Rougarou only trailed 3-1 going into the 6th inning, but the Bombers scored 8 runs in the top of the 6th inning to extend their lead to 8-1. The Rougarou went into the 8th inning down 9-1, but Lukas Polanco scored with the bases loaded on a Carson Clowers walk in the bottom of the 8th inning.  

After 8 innings, the Rougarou trailed 9-2 and Pitcher Stevie Szucs was able to keep the Bombers scoreless in the top of the 9th inning. The Rougarou were not able to get anything going in the bottom of the 9th and lost 9-2 to the Bombers.  

The Rougarou will travel to Bryan, Texas to take on the Bombers at Travis Field on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. That will be the 1st game of the Rougarou’s two game home series against the Bombers before they have Thursday and Friday night off.
