Rougarou fall to Bombers in Last Game of Road Series before Returning Home

Baton Rouge, LA – June 11, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou played the Brazos Valley Bombers on Tuesday night in the last game of their 2-game road series against the Bombers. The Rougarou lost to the Bombers despite a late rally in the top of the 8th inning.  

Jacob Snyder took the mound for the Rougarou on Tuesday night and pitched 3 scoreless innings to start the game. The Bombers struck first in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring 4 runs from 2 walks, 2 hits, and an error. In the bottom of the 5th inning, right fielder Reid Baty threw out a runner going to third base on a single to help stop a rally by the Bombers.  

The score remained 4-0 until the top of the 8th when Johnny Johnson led off the inning with a single and Scotty Scott followed with a single of his own. Johnson and Scott advanced to second and third base on an error by the Bombers and Johnny Johnson scored on an RBI by Logan Lejeune. This cut the Bombers lead to 4-1.  

The Rougarou kept the Bombers scoreless for the rest of the game, but could not get anything else going losing 4-1 to the Bombers. Carson Clowers went 2-4 at the plate and Guillaume Beaudry pitched 2 shutout innings of relief allowing no hits and striking out 1.  

The Rougarou will return to Pete Goldsby Field Wednesday night to play the Acadiana Cane Cutters at 7:05 p.m. in the first game of their 2 game home series against the Cane Cutters. The Rougarou will celebrate Like a Boss Night on Wednesday night against the Cane Cutters, where a boss is nominated by their employees and will be honored on the field.
