Baton Rouge, LA. – June 17, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou took on the Acadiana Cane Cutters on Monday night in the last game of their 2 game home series against the Cane Cutters. The Rougarou were eager to get a win before going on a 2-day break on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Cortlynn Ramirez took the mound for the Rougarou on Monday night striking out 5 batters and giving up only 1 run in the 5th inning. He pitched 6 innings and Corbin Bozosi came in in the 7th inning and pitched 2 innings also only giving up 1 run and getting a strikeout.
The Rougarou got on the board in the eighth inning scoring 2 runs off a Kalun Dronette double that tied the game at 2. They scored 2 more runs on a single by Logan Lejeune and another single by Brayden Morrow that gave the Rougarou a 4-2 lead.
Luke Baley came into pitch in the top of the ninth inning striking out the side and getting the win for the Rougarou against the Cane Cutters 4-2. Scotty Scott had an impressive night hitting going 3 for 4 and scoring 1 run for the Rougarou.
Monday night’s game against the Cane Cutters was the last game of the Rougarou’s 2 game home series against the Cane Cutters. The Rougarou will have 2 days off before returning to Pete Goldsby Field on Thursday night to take on the Victoria Generals for Thirsty Thursday where all in attendance can buy $1 beers and Friday night’s game against the Generals will be Fireworks Friday.
