Rougarou celebrate Bark in the Park night with victory

Grant Upton and Cam Crawford lead the Rougarou to a 3-0 shutout win against Twins

Baton Rouge, La. – June 30, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou celebrated Bark in the Park night on Sunday at Pete Goldsby Field. The Rougarou secured a 3-0 shutout victory over the Texarkana Twins in the first game of a two-game series. 

After two scoreless innings, the Rougarou opened scoring, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third when Cam Crawford scored on a Brayden Morrow single. The Rougarou extended their lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth as Kalun Dronette singled to drive in Brennan Lambert

The Rougarou further widened their lead in the seventh inning. Carson Clowers scored on a Logan Lejeune single to make the score 3-0, in favor of the Rougarou. Grant Upton and Luke Baley dominated the mound, keeping the Twins scoreless to secure the 3-0 win. 

Crawford led the Rougarou offensively with a 3-for-4 outing, including a run and a double. Upton dominated the mound, holding the Twins scoreless while striking out eight batters in eight innings pitched.  

The Rougarou close out its two-game set against the Texarkana Twins tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. After Monday night’s game, the Rougarou hit the road for an 11-game road trip, before returning home on July 13 to host the Victoria Generals.
