Two Privateers to Play with the Rougarou

Baton Rouge, LA – February 11, 2019 – Two more players have committed to join the Rougarou in their inaugural season at Pete Goldsby Field in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Cortlynn Ramirez and Brayden Morrow are both in their freshman season for the Privateers at the University of New Orleans and were both born and raised in Louisiana.

Cortlynn Ramirez, born in Center Point, Louisiana recently graduated from Grace Christian School where he lettered in baseball and basketball, concluding his high school years with an outstanding athletic career. Ramirez, a pitcher/infielder, was a vital component to the success of the Grace Christian School’s baseball program. At the completion of his career at Grace Christian, Ramirez, standing at six-foot-five, 195 pounds had rounded up 200 total strikeouts on the mound and sent 20 total home runs out of the park while at the plate. In 2017, Ramirez led his team to win the State Championship and was later named the State Tournament Most Valuable Player and the State MVP.

Brayden Morrow, a six-foot-three, 180-pound infielder and true freshman at UNO will play for the Rougarou this upcoming summer. Morrow is newly graduated from St. Thomas More High School near his hometown; Carencro, Louisiana. Morrow had a notable high school career achieving All-Star and All-District selections in 2018. He ended his senior year with a .330 batting average along with six home runs and 45 RBIs. His success is already carrying over to college, it didn’t take long for Morrow to make a name for himself at the University of New Orleans. Coach Blake Dean of UNO said, “He has been impressive and he can get a lot of playing time as a freshman.”

Ramirez and Morrow are two more promising additions to the Rougarou ball club. They both have noteworthy statistics, achievements and awards from previous seasons and now play for a college program with high standards, and strong character. The Rougarou are ecstatic about these two players and can’t wait to have them here in Baton Rouge.
