Baton Rouge, La. – July 24, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou celebrated Strike Out Cancer Night for their series finale against the Acadiana Cane Cutters on Wednesday night at Pete Goldsby Field. The Rougarou shut out the Cane Cutters as they secured the 1-0 victory.
After three scoreless innings, the Rougarou took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning as Logan LeJeune scored on a fielder’s choice by Brooks Southall. Starting pitcher Guillaume Beaudry and relief pitcher Luke Baley combined to keep the Cane Cutters scoreless through the last five innings.
Beaudry struck out three batters and held the Cutters to no runs on nine hits in 7.1 innings pitched. Baley pitched 1.2 innings in relief, striking out a batter and allowing no hits. Johnny Johnson reached base three times on a single, walk and hit by pitch.
The Rougarou continue their home stand, hosting the Texarkana Twins on Thursday and Friday. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m. (CT) at Pete Goldsby Field.
