Lejuenes offensive performance not enough as Rougarou fall to Bombers
Baton Rouge, La. – August 2, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou celebrated LSU Alumni night on Friday night at Pete Goldsby Field, giving away Skip Bertman bobbleheads to hundreds of Rougarou fans. The Rougarou fell 6-1 to the Brazos Valley Bombers in the series opener.
After a scoreless first inning, the Bombers plated two runs in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead. The Bombers added three more runs in the top of the third to lengthen their lead to 5-0. The Bombers scored a run in the top of the seventh to make the score 6-0. The Rougarou responded in the bottom of the frame, scoring a run on an RBI triple by Scotty Scott, but ultimately fell 6-1 to the Bombers in the series opener.
Starting pitcher Reid Baty pitched a complete game on 131 pitches, as he held the Bombers to six runs on nine hits. Logan Lejeune had a 2-for-3 outing, including a double, a single and a walk.
The Rougarou celebrate Roux’s Birthday and close out their series against the Bombers on Saturday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. (CT) at Pete Goldsby Field.
