Baton Rouge, La. – June 21, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou celebrated Firework Friday with a performance by Whiskey Rhythm, hosting the Victoria Generals for the last game of a two-game set at Pete Goldsby Field. The Rougarou fell 6-3 to the Generals in 12 innings.
The Generals struck first, scoring two runs in the top of the first to take an early 2-0 lead. The Rougarou cut their deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the frame when a sacrifice fly by Kalun Dronette drove home Drew Bianco.
The Rougarou took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a Lukas Polanco RBI double and a Carson Clowers RBI single. The Generals then plated a run in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 3-3. After six scoreless innings, the Generals scored three runs to take a 6-3 win over the Rougarou.
Despite a tough loss, the Rougarou had a few good performances. Brayden Morrow had two hits, while Luke Baley pitched two solid innings with three strikeouts. The Rougarou hit the road to face the Acadiana Cane Cutters for a two-game series this Saturday-Sunday.
