He finished his summer playing for the Traverse City (Mich.) Pit Spitters in the Northwoods League where he went 1-1 in 3 games (1 start). His senior year in high school Thorington was a Division 1 Second Team All-State selection after going 9-1 with a 1.22 ERA and 72 K’s in 57 innings of work.

Brister, who hails from Paincourtville, La., is a freshman, right-handed pitcher and outfielder for Nunez Community College (Chalmette, La.) and has already seen some game action this season for the 2-2 Pelicans. On the hill, Brister has made 2 appearances (1 start) striking out 2 in a scoreless inning of relief and going 2.1 innings in his start, giving up 4 hits and 5 earned runs with another 2 strikeouts in a no-decision. Although he has not stepped into the box yet this season, he did hit .391 (9-for-23) with a homerun during NCC’s Fall season.
