BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge continues to bring in players as the timer ticks down towards opening
night. Today, the Rougarou announced the signings of outfielder Hunter LeBlanc and infielder Cayle Webster.
LeBlanc hails from Luling, LA and will be playing his college ball at Nicholls State (Thibodaux, La.) in 2022
after spending his first two years at University of Southern Mississippi (Hattiesburg, Miss) and transferring to
Jones College in Ellisville, Miss. for the 2021 season. The Hahnville (La.) High School graduate was a 2018
Louisiana All-Star Game invitee, 1 st Team All-State by Prep Baseball Report and was tabbed 2 nd Team “Small
School” All-America by Max Preps. The lefty-swinging outfielder also earned All-State and All-Region honors
as well as a member of the All-USA Louisiana Team as selected by USA Today.
Webster comes to Baton Rouge from Long Grove, Iowa having spent his 2021 season at Black Hawk College –
Moline (Moline, Ill.) where he put up videogame type numbers. The middle infielder boasted an average of
.440, racking up 81 hits in 184 at-bats. He would also deposit 7 homeruns and an eye popping 80 RBI. In
addition to those numbers, Webster would add on to his stat line by flashing his speed and swiping 26 bases and
crossed the plate 69 times as well. Webster is in line to be very productive both in the box and on the base paths
for Baton Rouge this summer.
The Baton Rouge Rougarou open the 2021 season on June 1 with a 4-game roadtrip to Texas to face both the
Amarillo Sod Squad and Brazos Valley Bombers in 2-game sets. The Rougarou home opener will be Saturday,
