Baton Rouge, LA – November 8, 2018 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou are excited to announce that their 2019 schedule will begin on May 29th on the road against the Texarkana Twins. After two quick road games, the Rougarou will return for their home opener against the Victoria Generals on Friday, May 31st at Pete Goldsby Field.
The home opener series lasts 4 games in which the home crowd will get to see the Rougarou battle against the Victoria Generals, last year’s TCL champions, and the Brazos Valley Bombers, last year’s regular season champions. On June 12th, the Rougarou will meet their Louisiana rivals, the Acadiana Cane Cutters, in Baton Rouge for a two game series. This will be the first time the Rougarou and Cane Cutters will face off in a season where they will play against each other 14 times. The Cane Cutters lost in the TCL championship series last summer.
The Rougarou will be hosting a total of 28 home games at Pete Goldsby Field this season and traveling to the other Texas Collegiate League members’ home turf for the remaining 28 regular season games.
From July 2nd through the 4th, the Texas Collegiate League will take its mid-season break and celebrate the All-Star Game activities. The All-star game is the league’s annual showcase of top players from the League.
The Rougarou will wrap up their regular season with a homestand on August 6th and 7th against the Cane Cutters. The TCL playoffs are set to begin on August 10th with a best of three-game series. The TCL Championship will be decided in one game on August 13th.
