Baton Rouge, LA – March 25, 2019 – The Baton Rouge Rougarou announced on Monday that right-handed pitcher Stevie Szucs and left-handed pitcher Zach Fordham, of the Georgia Highlands Chargers, have been added to the roster for the 2019 Texas Collegiate League season.
“We are definitely excited about adding these two quality arms,” Rougarou Manager Thomas Simoneaux said. “They (Szucs & Fordham) pitch in a tough conference and have competed and done well. That experience should play well for us this Summer.”
Fordham, the Buford, Georgia native, is currently in his sophomore season at Georgia Highlands and has a 3-1 record so far in 2019 after making seven starts with a 3.77 ERA. He has pitched one complete game this season and has struck out 34 in 28.2 innings and walking 14.
Szucs, the Marietta, Georgia native, is currently in his freshman season at Georgia Highlands where he has made five starts in 2019. He is currently 1-2 on the season with a 5.40 ERA while recording a complete game. He has 23 strikeouts in 23.1 innings pitched while walking just seven.
The Inaugural 2019 Rougarou season kicks on May 29 when they hit the road to face the Texarkana Twins. The Rougarou will open at home on May 31 when they face the Victoria Generals.
