The Baton Rouge Rougarou kept its winning streak alive Saturday night, taking down the Acadiana Cane Cutters, 4-2, at Pete Goldsby Field.

Reed Eason, Cameron Yadon and Samuel Plash all had two hits on the night. Eason and J.T. Taylor hit doubles. Elliot Hebert had a triple and two RBIs.

Jadon Brasseaux (2-2) had an impressive outing giving up no runs and no hits through five innings. He gave up a single to the Cane Cutters’ leadoff batter in the sixth and an RBI double. He walked five and struck out four.

Landry Alligood pitched two innings, giving up one run on two hits and striking out two. Sonny Brandwood earned the save with one hitless, scoreless inning.

The Rougarou scored three runs in the first inning and one in the fourth, then had to hold off a Cane Cutters rally to seal the win.

Eason led off the bottom of the first with a single, followed by Yadon’s single. Hebert then cleared the bases with a triple and scored on sacrifice fly by Lane Hutchinson.

In the fourth inning, Brayden Caskey led off with a single, stole second and scored on a single by Yadon.

The Rougarou will take a two-day break for the Texas Collegiate League All-Star Game, which will be played Sunday, July 3 at Riverside Stadium in Victoria, Texas. The team returns to action Wednesday, July 6 against the Brazos Valley Bombers at Travis Field.
