The Acadiana Cane Cutters continued to have the Rougarou’s number Sunday night, rolling up 11 hits to take a 12-6 win over Baton Rouge at Fabacher Field to sweep the two-game series.

In two games the Cane Cutters scored 27 runs on 24 hits, holding the Rougarou to seven runs on seven hits.

The Rougarou managed five hits Sunday night, including a solo home run by Trip Dobson that briefly tied the game at 5-5 in the sixth inning.

But Acadiana scored three runs in the bottom of the frame, one in the seventh and three more in the eighth to pull away. The Rougarou scored one more run in the seventh.

Free passes continued to haunt the Rougarou on Sunday as seven pitchers walked 11 batters. There was only one hit by a pitch and the contingent struck out 13.

Baton Rouge got a few gifts too, however. Acadiana’s six pitchers walked 11, hit one and struck out 10. Jake McCann drew a bases loaded walk in the third inning for one of his two RBIs. Dylan Champagne and Jacob Keys also drove in runs.

The Rougarou (7-9) will take Monday off then head west to Texas for a four-game series at the Abilene Flying Bison.
