To the Baton Rouge Rougarou, community is EVERYTHING.
Without the support of our extended “ROUX FAM”- there would be no Baton Rouge Rougarou. Therefore, we strive to help and give back to our community in any possible way in hopes of being a part of making Baton Rouge better, but betterment takes a village, and we hope that our strides inspire other teams and fans to pay it forward.
As a summer collegiate baseball team, we have players from across the nation each year, but as any true Louisianian knows, there’s no place stronger or more resilient than LOUISIANA. And we hope that each and every player leaves us at the end of the summer with a little piece of Louisiana spirit to take back to their respective homes because our team is about more than just baseball.
Instilling our sense of community into these young men is a goal we take very seriously, which is why during the two month duration of the players' stay in Baton Rouge we enforce team-wide (plus Roux, of course) hospital, nursing home, school, church, food bank, miracle league, and many other outreach visits.
We love Baton Rouge and every single person that resides in it. As an organization, we will always be happy to lend a helping hand!
