Head Coach
Mikes Forbes is a 2000 graduate of Central HS in Baton Rouge. Mike played collegiately at Bossier Parish CC, Delgado CC, and UNO. Coach Forbes has been a head coach in high school baseball for over 14 years including stops at Silliman Institute (2yrs), Central HS (8yrs), and Brusly HS (7yrs). In the 2017-18 season, Coach Forbes led the Central Wildcats to the 5A state championship.
Mike Spears
Assistant coach
Mike Spears brings over 20 years of playing and coaching experience. A self-motivated teacher and leader, he’s passionate about developing pitchers through data-driven training and competitive culture. Spears has coached at all levels and currently leads the Chattanooga State Tigers pitching staff with a focus on preparation, discipline, and relentless execution. No stranger to Summer Collegiate baseball, Spears has coached in the West Coast League and the last two summers in the Northwoods League.


Assistant Coach
Beatty was recruited by the Rougarou last summer to help maintain Pete Goldsby Field, but he has more than 25 years of experience – and four state runner-up trophies -- as the head baseball coach at Doyle High School.
“Ronnie needed a guy to come help take care of the field and I’m a big field guy,” Beatty said. “It gave me something to do. My boys are grown now and I’m not coaching them any more in the summer so I said, ‘You know? I think I can do that.’ I enjoyed it and enjoyed being around those older guys after being around high school guys for so long. It was a great experience. It’s an opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to going out with them.”
