The Victoria Generals broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the ninth inning, scoring one run on a triple, an intentional walk and a single to hand the Baton Rouge Rougarou a 4-3 loss Sunday night at Riverside Stadium.

The Rougarou, who have lost four games in a row, were held to two hits by five Victoria pitchers. Taylor Walters and Jack Marcantel were the only players with hits. Marcantel drove in two runs and Hayes Hebert another. There were nine walks and 11 strikeouts and Baton Rouge left 10 men stranded.

The Generals knocked seven hits off of three Rougarou pitchers, who walked six and struck out nine. One of those hits was a 2-run home run in the third inning.

Baton Rouge scored first in the top of the first when Taylor Walters singled, Ty Simonelli walked and Marcantel singled.

Victoria scored two runs in the third and another in the fourth, but Baton Rouge cut the lead to 3-2 in the top of the fifth. Walters drew a leadoff walk and stole second. Simonelli walked and stole second, then Marcantel flied out to center field to score Walters.

Baton Rouge tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the seventh inning when Simonelli walked, went to second on a wild pitch, then Trip Dobson walked and Marcantel was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Dobson was pitcked off, but Jacob Keys walked to re-load the bases. Hayes Hebert then reached on an error that allowed Simonelli to score the tying run.
